SoVND is a novel interface for viewing and listening to the activity of a population of neurons as it relates to cognitive functions. In the lab, we record the electrical activity of single neurons in the brain while subjects perform behavioral tasks in front of a computer screen. This project aims to help neuroscientists and non-neuroscientists alike understand how populations of neurons respond during cognitive tasks and in turn explore how signals from the brain might be used to create musical sounds.
